Dr.

Dr. Lin Huff-Corzine received her Ph.D. in Sociology at Washington University in St. Louis in 1986. Prior to joining the Sociology faculty at UCF in 1996, she spent nine years at Kansas State University where she led the Criminology program in the Sociology, Anthropology & Social Work Department, participated in the Ethnic Studies Program, and served as one of the three-member Governing Board that oversaw Women’s Studies Program.
After serving as a senior faculty fellow during the 1998-1999 academic year, Lin became an assistant vice president for Academic Affairs in 1999. The Office of Faculty Relations was established in 2004 with Dr. Huff-Corzine taking the lead.
The Office of Faculty Relations is responsible for facilitating collective bargaining with the faculty union; implementing the faculty contract, including but not limited to the facilitation of promotion and tenure, UCF-TIPs, UCF-RIAs, and SoTLs; overseeing faculty teaching qualifications for SACS; and conducting workshops on all of the above and more.
Lin continues her academic pursuits related to her long-time interest in the study of homicide using cutting-edge datasets and statistical methods. She regularly presents papers at professional meetings and publishes articles in refereed journals on this subject. In addition, she is currently working on a manuscript entitled Pathways to Murder with colleagues from UCF, Auburn, and the FBI.

Barbara has been at UCF since 2002. She is often someone's first point-of-contact with
the Office of Faculty Relations. She handles much of the incoming
information to the office. If you have questions, she's a great place
to start. Her love of people and willingness to help is a tremendous
asset to our department. She is also responsible for helping faculty and A&P employees enroll in UCF's sick leave
pool, a benefit to all UCF employees. Barbara was named "Employee of
the Month" in November 2006.

Heidi Watt, Assistant Director

Heidi joined Academic Affairs in the summer of 2003 and has served in the Office of Faculty Relations since it was established in 2004. She can help you with questions regarding faculty teaching qualifications requirements, the online Faculty Handbook, and other faculty matters. Prior to making her move into administration at UCF, Heidi worked in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology where she received her M.A. in Applied Sociology. While in the department, Heidi served as a visiting instructor and as managing editor of Social Science Research, an academic journal devoted to quantitative research in the social sciences. She was also involved in various collaborative research projects. When she's not at work, Heidi enjoys exercising, reading, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family, including husband Joe and her four kitties, Rusty, Mimi, Obe, and Dirty Paw. Currently, a fifth "stray" cat seems to be working his way into the household as well.

Lucretia Cooney, Sr. Faculty Relations Representative

Lucretia worked in the College of Engineering and Computer Science’s Academic Support Services department prior to joining Faculty Relations in fall 2006. She graduated in spring 2007 from UCF’s College of Business with a degree in Business Management. Currently she is pursuing her master’s degree in Sociology. Her primary responsibilities include supporting the process for reviewing faculty teaching qualifications. She updates and maintains faculty degree data, and assists with audits. In her spare time she enjoys cooking and dining with friends.
Dr. David Kuhn, Professor Emeritus

Dr. David T. Kuhn, Professor Emeritus, received his Ph.D. degree in Zoology (Genetics) from Arizona State University in 1968. His teaching interests and research expertise are in the area of genetics. After serving as an Assistant Professor of Biology at Creighton University from 1968-1970, he joined the Department of Biology at the University of Central Florida (then Florida Technological University) in 1970, attaining the rank of Professor in 1979. In addition to his teaching and research, he functioned as Biology Graduate Coordinator from 1989-2000 and Chair of Biology from 2000-2005. Since retirement in 2005, David has taught honors genetics and continues with his genetic studies.
David joined the Office of Faculty Relations in 2007 where he has assumed responsibility for developing workshops focusing on faculty mentoring and other faculty-related areas. He is also involved with other special projects in the office, including sustained faculty performance and non-unit faculty evaluation procedures. In his spare time he continues his work in fruit fly (Drosophila) developmental genetics.
Charlie
Piper, Coordinator

Charlie began working in Faculty Relations in summer 2005. She manages and updates this web site, all collective bargaining documents, and maintains an internal record and public meeting minutes of the proceedings. She works on all the faculty award programs, does research for the department, and provides documents to and for other agencies within UCF. She comes to us from another division of Academic Affairs, and previously worked in UCF's Department of Statistics & Actuarial Science. She completed her master's degree in TESOL in May 2006. For fun and a little exercise, she plays soccer in an adult league.
